On the eve of the launch of what could easily be the biggest PS3 title yet, Metal Gear Solid 4, it would be as good a time as any to check out some of the best titles that the stealth action genre has to offer. In anticipation of Metal Gear Solid 4, here are my top 10 stealth games:

 

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Snake’s first true stealth outing on the PSP is one of the system’s premier titles, getting as close as a handheld title can to the greatness of the console series.
Thief Gold
A Stealth game for the (Middle) Ages, Thief was an open-ended blast to play.
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
Agent 47’s second outing as an assassin was creative and engaging even at its worst moments.
