Pathway to Glory was the N-Gage’s first major turn-based strategy game. It was an original title with good graphics, online features, and one of the best combat and control systems found in a mobile game.

Developed by RedLynx, the same studio that worked on Pathway to Glory, High Seize is the pirate version. Combat is turn-based, and units will be selected in a similar fashion. The key differences will be story and the world setting. You’re battling at sea in this game. Water poses a new threat to you and your foes, as do the primitive ships and weaponry that’s available. Head-on attacks may not be possible when all your ship is equipped with is side-mounted cannons.

A highly involved story is said to keep the single-player games interesting (not like that would’ve been a problem). When near N-Gage toting friends, players can N-Gage themselves in intense multiplayer battles. Up to four gamers can battle simultaneously, making High Seize one of the most original turn-based strategy games to date. Not even the great Advance Wars and Fire Emblem series have that feature.

The N-Gage Arena will be supported as well, allowing for at least two players to go head-to-head from any location. A high score ranking system is going to be added. It’ll be used to compare players’ ability to go the distance, and to help high, low and intermediate-skilled players find each other.

High Seize looks like it’s going to be another strategic winner for the N-Gage. Expect its release to be met with just as much acclaim as its modern-day predecessor, Pathway to Glory.
